Dr. Cornelia Bleul-Gohlke is the Education Director for the GSEB. She oversees the school’s educational program and teachers, and serves as the key liaison between the school’s faculty, students, parents and board.
A native Berliner, Dr. Bleul-Gohlke has over 25 years of experience as a teacher and school administrator in the United States and Germany. She has taught German language to hundreds of adult learners in the United States, and German, English, Math, Art, History, and Sports at the elementary through college level in Berlin. As a member of various Berlin state education commissions, she has additionally overseen teacher continuing education and evaluation programs and curriculum development. An elite swimmer, she has authored dozens of publications on swimming and movement. Among her many achievements, Dr. Bleul-Gohlke holds a Ph.D. in Pedagogy from the Freie Universität Berlin and a Master of Arts Degree in Museum Studies from the University of San Francisco. She lives with her husband and three children in Berkeley.
Martina is the GSEB’s Office Manager and answers questions, helps students and their parents, manages the front office, and supports the teachers and other GSEB staff.
She is a first-generation American whose parents emigrated from Germany, and then met and married in San Francisco. Martina is a graduate of San Francisco State University with a double BA in German and History. She studied at the Karl-Ruprecht University in Heidelberg and has visited Germany many times to visit family and friends. She also lived in Switzerland for two years with her husband and two children.
Martina speaks and writes in German with fluency and lives in Alameda.
